Academic excellence is achieved at NorthBay through a classical educational
approach with a biblical worldview and an emphasis on equipping students
with the tools they need to succeed as they grow. Teaching at NorthBay
focuses on fundamental knowledge and skills, including mastery of
reading, language, and math, and a strong foundation in History and
Science.
Class sizes at NorthBay never exceed 16 students per teacher. This
allows for individual attention that assists learning as well as a
mentoring relationship between the student and teacher.
We strive for challenging, exciting teaching that engages the students’
interest and sparks a passion for learning. Altogether, this approach
results in student performance that is well above average compared
to others schools across the nation.
In accordance with the classical approach, NorthBay seeks to develop
a love of learning and to encourage a lifestyle of learning that continues
even after students have completed their schooling. NorthBay’s academic
program is designed to develop the students’ abilities to think, reason,
and articulate. We believe these skills are very important as a student
makes his way in the world. They are especially important for Christians
so that they will not be vulnerable to deceptive philosophies, and
so that they can defend their faith lovingly and eloquently.
NorthBay students often participate in exciting off-campus experiences
designed to enrich their studies. In addition, weekly enrichment classes
provide students with interaction and appreciation in art, music,
drama, Spanish, logic, science experiments, chapel and physical education.
